Michele, a professional, asked me in July 2022 if I could make a personalized tea to relieve the symptoms associated with fibromyalgia. Holy basil leaves are used in traditional medicine with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Passionflower aids to manage pain, anxiety, and stress. Ginger and turmeric rhizomes are synergistic herbs paired to boost potency, supporting, muscular pain relief, and stiffness. Additionally, Ginger rhizome aids circulation, helping fatigue. Cinnamon bark also helps to reduce muscle and joint pain; yet, provides an antioxidant powerhouse, protecting the body, and boosting circulation, energy levels, and brain health. Astragalus root, too, helps the body improve vitality, by supporting the immune and circulatory system. The combination of herbs can help to make unbearable symptoms manageable. Other symptoms, such as bending and stretching, improve when the body is balanced.
One resealable bag, comprises 4.5 ounces, will last approximately six weeks if consuming two cups daily.
Ingredients: Michele's tea comprises organic holy basil (Rama and Vana,) passionflower, ginger root, cinnamon bark powder, ground turmeric. and astragalus root.
Directions: Add two teaspoons of loose tea to four cups of boiling water; then, add a pinch of black pepper. Steep for 20 minutes, stirring frequently. (If making a large batch, double the recipe, steeping for over 30 minutes.) Make enough to consume within three to four days. Refrigerate. If you like hot tea, simmer it until it suits your temperature.
